Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in proper food handling techniques
- Collaborate with the management team to develop menus and specials
- Monitor kitchen equipment and schedule maintenance or repairs as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist in creating and implementing cost-saving measures
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Proficiency in culinary techniques and cooking methods
- Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and inventory management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience in shift management and scheduling
- Cash handling experience is a plus
- Previous experience as an assistant manager or kitchen manager in a hotel or restaurant setting is preferred
