About the Pet Cancer Foundation:

The Pet Cancer Foundation’s vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates suggest that 12M dogs and cats are developing cancer every year, roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.

We need to do more to help our furry friends, and our new website will play a major role in providing the much searched-for information that pet owners need to help their pets live healthier, longer lives. As part of that effort, our team requires SEO Specialists to help us achieve our objective of being the web’s leading animal cancer resource. That's where and how you can help us!

About the Position:

The volunteer SEO Specialist is responsible for performing keyword research and making strategic recommendations that support the organization’s goal of becoming the leader in pet cancer information online. The Specialist will report to the Director of Online Marketing Strategy, working collaboratively and cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across the organization. Key functions of the specialist will be to provide analysis and insight from their knowledge of the sector and monitoring of analytics programs, with the intent of optimizing search onsite and through external programs. Advanced knowledge of WordPress and applicable SEO and analytics plugins is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct keyword research and analysis to identify relevant topics and provide recommendations to optimize website content.
• Optimize elements, including meta tags, to improve search engine visibility.
• ·Develop and implement strategies to enhance domain authority and improve search engine rankings.
• Monitor website performance using SEO tools such as Google Analytics, providing regular reports and insights.
• Stay updated on search engine algorithm changes and industry trends and adapt SEO strategies accordingly.
• Identify opportunities for website optimization and recommend improvements to enhance user experience and search engine performance.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion rates to assess the effectiveness of SEO efforts.
• Provide guidance and support to internal teams on SEO best practices and strategies.

About You:

Our incumbent candidate will have a passion for SEO and internet marketing, which includes an outstanding ability to think creatively, while identifying and resolving challenges. You are adept at clearly and effectively articulating your thoughts and recommendations, while operating with high levels of integrity, autonomy and self-motivation. You have:

• Passion and desire to support PCF's mission of improving the life expectancy & quality of life of animals with cancer.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in SEO, with a proven track record of success in improving organic search visibility and rankings.
• Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics.
• Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress is a plus.
