Overview

The Senior Vice President of Children's Services is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of Children's Services. As a member of the Executive and Senior Leadership teams, the Senior Vice President oversees cross-functional services and systems, to support and promote the continuum of supports offered throughout Advocates.

  • Provide operational and clinical oversight of division programs including Home-based ABA (School-age Insurance, EI, DESE/DDS, Waiver, School contracts), ABA Clinic, the Darnell School, and TechACCESS, ensuring the clinical and operational integrity of these services is maintained. Additional Children's Services programs may be added to the scope of this position over time.
  • Provide fiscal accountability for division programs including budget development, projections, and fiscal management to ensure that divisions meet expectations.
  • Serve as Project Administrator for the Children's/TechACCESS Practice Management, Clinical, and  Third-Party Billing system.
  • Oversee and coordinate strategic and business planning for Children's Services and TechACCESS.
  • Collaborate with child and family services reporting to other Senior Vice Presidents and facilitate the development of an agency-wide approach to services for this population.
  • Create and pursue new business opportunities for services for children who are pre-school or school age, including school-based and home-based support, while continuing to nurture, sustain, and advance the expansion of existing services.
  • Write proposals in response to current business and new business opportunities.
  • Maintain exemplary performance with respect to contract specifications, regulatory requirements, and licensing/accreditation standards, including oversight and Maintenance of Early Intervention certification.
  • Motivate and lead high performing, diverse teams; providing supervision, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote an atmosphere of quality customer service and excellence in service delivery.
  • Maintain constructive and productive internal and external communications with staff, managers, providers, vendors, and funding sources.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with departments across the agency.
  • Develop, maintain, and foster effective working partnerships and customer relationships with state agencies, funding sources, community providers, and individuals/families.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the agency.
  • Assist in fundraising, strategic partnership, and new program development to enable the agency to meet growth
  • Represent the agency, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, with clients, families, funders, the community, and all other stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
  • Develop social strategies, systems, and programs that support and improve the communities in which Advocates operates.
  • Facilitate and support affiliations, and other community partnerships and collaborations.
  • Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
  • Strictly follow all agency performance standards.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree (M.A./M.S.) or doctorate in a field related to human services plus 10+ years supervisory and program management experience in services for children and families. 
  • Licensure would be valued.
  • Demonstrated experience with children with autism, those with behavioral health diagnoses, and other populations of youth and families in need of services.
  • BCBA and/or experience in programs that provide behavioral analysis and management would be helpful, as would be working knowledge of allied professionals. 
  • Demonstrated application of sound business practices, including budgeting, financial projections, and implementation of fiscal controls.
  • Exemplary customer-service skills and focus.
  • Ability to lead, as a member of a senior leadership team, through change and strategic growth.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills necessary to lead and motivate teams.
  • Ability to function in a team atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing a variety of service types with various funding models.
  • Knowledge of state and federal systems for serving children.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations including Medicaid, commercial insurance; and EOHHS agencies (DESE, DMH, DDS, DCF, DPH.)
  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to execute a variety of decision-making models.
  • Must be able to multi-task with frequently changing priorities.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must hold a valid drivers' license and have access to an automobile to travel between sites.
