About the role
Reporting to the Zonal Underwriting Manager or Underwriting Manager, this role will be primarily responsible to execute the geographic underwriting strategy for Retail Property.

AIG is looking for an experienced Underwriter to join the Retail Property team in Los Angeles, CA. Come join a team that works with Fortune 500 companies. You will work with engineering to set up client stewardship meetings. Work internally with executive leaders on a regular basis. You will have an opportunity to use your creativity to grow your own book of business. There will be some travel (25%) and we look for this individual to develop strong, long term relationships with brokers and clients.

What we're looking for:
- Minimum mid level Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Advanced working knowledge of lines of business Retail Property products including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks, etc.
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented.
- Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.
- Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.
- Comfort with analytical tools and technology.
