Senior Tax Accountant-Oil And Gas

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consistently perform and take ownership of all assigned projects under the supervision of more experienced team members.
• Inform and update supervisors apprised of project status and scheduling issues on a timely basis.
• Develop an understanding of clients operations and accounting systems.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships and demonstrate effective communication skills with client personnel at appropriate levels
• Utilize effective and clear work paper techniques.
• Assist with tax return preparation, processing, and other accounting/consulting projects.
• Perform basic tax and accounting research.
• Work with your Direct Report to develop a charge goal, along with a plan to achieve and monitor your monthly and annual goal.
• Develop and implement a professional reading program that will assist in the recognition of tax and accounting issues.
• Collaborate with direct report manager to develop an appropriate plan of professional development and take responsibility to ensure that plan is achieved.
• Willingness to progress professionally by working toward passing the CPA exam.
• Familiarize with and adhere to relevant ethical requirements of the AICPA, contained in the Code of Professional Conduct, the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, and the Texas Society of CPA’s in discharging their professional responsibilities.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Masters degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• CPA candidate required, CPA strongly desired.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Oil and Gas Experience preferred.
• Public Accounting or equivalent.
