Responsibilities
Provides strategic consultative, analytical and facilitation services to prioritized Mayo Clinic entities. Leads multidisciplinary teams in evaluating and aligning strategic, operational and/or financial aspects with the mission. Resulting strategies will balance short-term and long-range business plans, evaluate the viability of proposed investments, and seek enterprise-wide synergies where applicable. Work products articulate and advance strategy, execution, and growth across enterprise, sites and shields, in alignment with Mayo Clinic's strategic direction.
These may include:
• Strategic initiative assessment and proposals
• Strategic plan development (includes defining strategic objectives)
• Business plans
• Service or product line development strategies
• Business opportunity assessment and business model innovation
• Competitive and market intelligence
• Financial effect analysis (FEA)
• Operational plan development
The Senior Strategist is typically assigned to projects of moderate complexity and medium to high priority. Leads strategic engagements at the shield and department level, and may support large engagements at the enterprise and leadership level through partnership with a manager or director. Should be comfortable professionally and respectfully challenging assumptions to improve work products. Will be involved in highly sensitive and private discussions regarding internal and external relationships, including merger, acquisition or affiliation discussions.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience. Experience in strategic intelligence, strategic planning, strategy development, client services, business or management consulting, project management, operations, analysis or health care.
