Social Strategists at TSL are responsible for identifying audience, content, and conversation insights, building platform-specific and holistic social strategies, identifying social channel and behavioral trends, and ultimately creating the strategic foundation for innovative, social-first ideas.
To be successful, this person must be a self-starter, have a curious mind, be skilled in collaborating with creatively-minded individuals, and exhibit an understanding of building social strategies that both answer clients' business objectives and inspire inventive thinking.
This role is specifically for a client in the gaming industry. We're looking for someone who has experience and/or interest in video games, gaming culture, gaming fandoms, and the entertainment industry. Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy Responsibilities
- Lead development of social strategy deliverables on behalf of clients, including but not limited to: campaign strategies, activation and influencer strategies, channel strategies, content strategies, engagement strategies, audience analysis and identification, competitor analysis, social tone + voice, social content and channel audits, and social listening reports.
- Showcase storytelling proficiency by developing powerful narratives that simplify complicated or unfamiliar topics in ways that are clear, human, and easy for others to understand.
- Deliver insights in new, fresh ways and present strategic concepts in an engaging, captivating, and persuasive manner.
- Stay up to date on social/digital platforms, conversation, and culture trends - with a specific lens on the gaming industry and communities.
- Expert understanding of online gaming communities including how they engage with one another and with brands.
- Analyze data to support key insights, takeaways, and recommendations for TSL clients.
- Proficient social listening skills (via social listening tools and in-platform), including forums like Reddit, Facebook Groups, Tumblr, and Discord.
- Participate in new business development, including research via social listening reports and channel/content audits, and brainstorming creative and content opportunities for prospective clients.
- Provide social audience, channel, and content POVs and proactive thought leadership to clients on behalf of TSL.
- Contribute to internal education and thought leadership across internal TSL teams.
- Lead development of reporting on behalf of clients, including Command Centers, social listening reports, and campaign reports.
Collaboration and Presentation Responsibilities
- Work alongside multi-disciplinary TSL teams to develop social-first strategies and ideas.
- Collaborate with cross-agency partners on behalf of client interests.
- Present strategic thinking and outputs to clients and internal partners.
People Management Responsibilities
- Support Strategy team directors in ongoing strategy team education and learning initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5-7+ years experience in a social, marketing, or communications role
- Agency experience preferred
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Strong planning, forecasting, analytical, and research skills
- Effective presentation skills
- Experience in gaming - either personally or professionally
- Prior social listening experience and comfort working with social listening tools
- Prior experience in navigating a social strategy process from insight-finding to content production
- Well organized, strong time management and prioritization skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality with business relations, personnel matters, and proprietary matters
- Proficient in the Adobe Suite, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite and Slack
