Bustle Digital Group (“BDG”) is seeking a Senior Social Media Strategist to join our Parenting team, working specifically on Scary Mommy and Romper, two digital publications devoted to premium storytelling about parenthood and raising children.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, capable of juggling many tasks, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The Sr. Social Media Strategist will work closely with the editorial teams and Associate Director of Parenting Social Media developing Social Media content, with a particular focus on Instagram. Other responsibilities will include regular data analysis, creative ideation, and execution on social franchises/series, and continuing to develop Scary Mommy and Romper’s identity on Social Media.
Applicants should have a passion for parenting content and be up-to-speed on current issues impacting families. The candidate should be fluent in all major social platforms (specifically Instagram, Facebook, X (formally Twitter), and TikTok); and possess strong communication skills. A great work ethic, ability to take initiative, and a deep understanding of Scary Mommy and Romper’s voices is a must.
This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between BDG Media, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage day-to-day posting on Instagram for Scary Mommy and Romper
- Regularly pitch new, innovative social concepts and ideas
- Help manage content execution of Scary Mommy and Romper digital issues
- Source imagery and produce original content for Instagram grid, Reels, and Instagram Stories
- Help develop Scary Mommy and Romper’s social strategy
- Use analytics tools to track growth across social channels and inform overall strategy
- Produce regular platform reports and present insights
Candidate Profile:
- 2+ years experience working in Social Media, specifically for a digital publisher
- Ability to write snappy, smart social copy
- Thorough understanding of Scary Mommy and Romper’s voice and firm knowledge of parenting culture
- Ability to identify trending topics, emerging trends, and on-brand influencers
- Firm knowledge of social analytics tools
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willingness to take direction and alter workflow with a sense of urgency
- Exceptional communication skills
$66,500 - $70,000 a year
