Position Description:

Senior Specialist - Tax

This position is responsible for U.S. Income tax compliance and tax accounting under ASC 740.  Under supervision of the Tax Associate Director, incumbent will prepare Federal and State income tax returns, Federal and State estimated tax payments, and Federal and State quarterly income tax provisions. Additionally, incumbent will provide Federal and State audit support, tax account reconciliations and other ad hoc requests. 

Responsibilities may also include occasional Sales, Use and Property tax support. This position will be asked to liaise with Business Unit Finance and Tax teams and other Departments including Treasury and Legal teams, and external advisors.
Your Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual and / or quarterly US provision for income taxes under GAAP for assigned legal entities and book/tax adjustments.

  • Assist the Associate Director – Tax with SOX related items for all the above and help maintain key internal control processes and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with ASC740 by calculating deferred tax entries on temporary tax adjustments, completing validation of deferred tax balances, and Federal and State return to accrual reconciliations.

  • Prepare the US consolidated federal income tax returns, state income and franchise tax returns (stand-alone and unitary) including disclosures, attachments, and workpapers.

  • Prepare calculations and forms for quarterly estimated tax payments and annual extensions.

  • Assist in preparing responses to IRS and state income tax notices and audit inquiries.

  • Look for ways to automate and improve current process using tools such as Corptax Office, Alteryx, or OneSource Workpapers.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3 plus years experience in U.S. tax compliance and /or tax accounting.

  • Experience in preparation of Federal 1120 and associated state and local corporate tax returns.

  • Experience preparing returns in Corptax compliance software

  • Experience in ASC740 related to U.S. tax matters.

  • Strong research of tax technical issues.

  • Sound analytical skills to perform necessary reconciliations.

  • Technology and tax compliance software experience (Corptax, OneSource, Microsoft Suite Apps).

  • Motivated mindset and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Technology and tax compliance software experience (HFM/FCCS, Corptax, SAP, Alteryx)

  • Experience using OneSource Tax Provision, workpapers, and/or dataflow.

  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of U.S. taxation of foreign source income (GILTI & Subpart F).

  • Experience with Project management.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.  This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Expected salary range:

$101,100.00 - $159,100.00
