The goal of CORE (Center for Observational and Real-world Evidence) is to develop value evidence strategy, generate real-world evidence to support the value proposition of our innovations and collaborate on the development of market access strategies for our company's products throughout the world. The Strategy & Operations (S&O) team in CORE enables the design, development, and execution of capabilities to enhance and evolve our company's investment in this critical space. CORE S&O develops, executes, and improves business processes to ensure that the work of CORE is delivered and leveraged in an efficient and compliant way.

This position plays a critical role in supporting the portfolio and budget management process for the organization. This would require close collaboration with CORE Scientists and cross-functional and cross-divisional working teams to ensure the CORE portfolio is executed and managed appropriately.

Some key responsibilities would include:

  • Conducting monthly portfolio reviews with the executive directors and scientists to monitor, review, and mitigate risks in executing the portfolio.

  • Addressing issues raised by CORE Scientists, responding to budget management questions, or issues, and finding a solution to resolve the issue in a timely manner

  • Serving as subject Matter Expert on budget management and CORE standards and responsible for providing guidance to the CORE Scientists regarding budget and operations

  • Supporting the annual plan process with finance and the S&O team

  • Analysing budget data and metrics to providing critical reports integrating the book of business information for key stakeholders

  • Assisting CORE scientists on questions on invoice submissions and serve as a liaison between vendors and PtP services to ensure payments are made in a timely manner

  • Providing operational support to ensure studies follow all CORE, Research Division and Human Health processes

This role would be a key partner with finance colleagues to provide financial planning and budget management across CORE projects

  • Create and synthesize information to provide financial reports utilizing excel Pivot tables, Microsoft Access, SAP, and other internal applications

  • Troubleshoot and/or investigate discrepancies or potential finance issues

  • Play a central role in supporting the Profit Plan, LROP (long range operating plan), quarterly forecasts review

  • Manage budget SharePoint site by updating, enhancing content to communicate and share organizational wide budget information

  • Conduct training and on-boarding process to ensure new employees are trained on the budget management process and utilizing SAP

  • The PPM may also provide Project Management support on CORE strategic initiatives on critical organization-wide projects

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in scientific, business, or related healthcare area required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Required Experience and Skills:

Strong business acumen with 3-4 years of experience with the following:

  • Portfolio and financial management/budgeting

  • Financial planning and forecasting and understanding of PO's and invoices

  • Ability to collaborate across functional areas and geographic locations

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively, raising issues with recommended solutions

  • Critical and analytical thinking to connect the dots, proactively anticipate any issues and mitigate any risks

Technical skills

  • Intermediate level Excel user - Pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, Slicers, automation, advanced formulas,

  • Proficient in Microsoft Access/database & SharePoint

  • Must be very comfortable with large data sets and numbers.

  • Understanding of Real-World health outcomes research/observational research

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • SAP experience

  • Project management

  • Data management & analysis

  • Biological experience

  • Job related experience (e.g., clinical/ observational, or non-interventional research), or equivalent experience a plus.

  • Experience with basic epidemiological methods, statistics, basic sciences, health outcome research or health economics and/or medical research.

  • Pharmaceutical experience

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$101,100.00 - $159,100.00
