Meals on Wheels Collin County was established in 1976 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the purpose of serving Meals on Wheels to promote better nutrition among elderly residents in Collin County. The first older adult nutrition program began in 1977 with 100 meals being served daily at three of our local senior centers.
Since then, the program has expanded to provide daily, nutritious meals and social interaction to approximately 2,000 unduplicated, homebound, older, or disabled adults throughout Collin County. Those at greater risk of malnutrition are also eligible to receive supplemental weekend and breakfast meals.
In 2022, MOWCC is prepared to provide an unprecedented 360,000 meals for an expected 2,500 unduplicated clients.
Summary:
The Senior Services Call Coordinatorrepresents the agency at the front desk and greets visitors. The Call Coordinator is the first impression (in person and on the phone) for Meals on Wheels Collin County (MOWCC) and should act, speak, and represent the agency professionally at all times while performing their duties. This position is primarily responsible for: Senior Safety Net requests, client cancellations, hold requests, providing agency information to callers, clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, signing for parcels and packages, and generally supporting others in the office with collaboration and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Although other duties may be assigned, please review these core duties and responsibilities:
1. Operates office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems, and use computers for spreadsheet, word processing, database management, and other applications.
2. Answers telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
3. Greets visitors and callers, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate people according to their needs.
4. Sets up and maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
5. Locates and attaches appropriate files to incoming correspondence requiring replies.
6. Completes forms in accordance with company procedures.
7. Makes copies of correspondence and other printed material.
8. Reviews work done by others to check for correct spelling and grammar, ensure that company format policies are followed, and recommend revisions.
9. Must have the ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
10. Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the agency in the front office and on the telephone.
11. Maintain accuracy in reporting and be detail oriented.
12. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft software.
13. Must maintain confidentiality and integrity regarding client/agency information.
14. Must provide excellent customer service and friendliness at the front desk.
15. Document client status changes for meal delivery in ServTracker database.
16. Update staff on any client changes.
17. Keep track of client referral sources.
18. Maintain call log.
19. Pass on all pertinent information regarding clients and/or volunteers to appropriate staff members.
20. Assist with various aspects of holiday programs i.e., Spring Boxes, Harvest Boxes, Secret Santa gifts.
21. Assist various staff as needed.
22. Must have been driving for at least 3 years.
23. This position requires delivering meals to clients if needed.
24. Professional appearance and dress at all times.
25. Must be able to be on time each day for work at 7:30am.
26. Must attend and help with mandatory volunteer weekend deliveries.
27. This position is not remote.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
