Overview

This is a hybrid role based in the Malvern, PA.

 

Summary/Objective

 

The Senior SEO Specialist will be working collaboratively across the marketing function to lead the day-to-day implementation and optimization of Organic and local search strategies. This person will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams and agency partners to implement site updates, perform organic search analysis, and drive forward optimizations across the site and local search for CubeSmart.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to drive strategic leadership of short-term and long-term projects to garner optimal results for the business. Additionally, this person should be able to apply innovative thinking and keen subject matter expertise to adapt SEO techniques to CubeSmart’s unique product and customer base. The CubeSmart Senior SEO specialist should have a good understanding of both content and technical SEO strategies, as well as organic search reporting, and local search experience is preferred.


Responsibilities

SEO Leadership and Management:

  • Demonstrate holistic awareness of search engine optimization tactics and be able to identify opportunities to align SEO strategy with other functional areas of marketing.
  • Collaborate with the SEO & Web Manager and agency, to craft recommendations and strategies based on competitive analysis and search best practices.
  • Perform research, collecting data using various tools such as SEMrush, Conductor, Yext, Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, etc.
    • Work closely with internal analytics team and agency teams to monitor and report on metrics such as organic traffic, ranking, conversion rate, page speed, bounce/exit rates, and revenue to drive insights and data-driven optimization recommendations.
    • Leverage performance metrics to inform content optimization recommendations.
  • Work closely with internal and external resources to ideate and implement optimization strategies including keyword strategy, competitive analysis, on-page optimizations, content creation, technical optimizations, and link building.
  • Perform ongoing keyword research including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Website & SEO Manager, UX designer and development team to deliver website enhancements optimized for SEO strategy.
  • Regularly conduct competitive analyses to stay on top of industry trends.
  • Author technical requirements documentation and collaborate with internal and external resources on implementation, QA, and execution of SEO projects.
  • Work to ensure tactics are implemented on time and in line with best practices across all websites.
  • Be a student of search engine optimization, staying current on algorithm updates and their impact; informing the business of landscape changes.
  • Apply a growth mindset to the job by staying on top of the latest industry trends, eager to build and test innovative SEO strategies that attract customers in new and creative ways.

 

Project & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with vendors, attending calls, keeping notes on any updates and submitting invoices in a timely manner.
  • Work autonomously to drive forward needed updates on the site, while communicating to the necessary partners about the change.
  • Keep a detailed and organized account of projects and tasks utilizing Asana.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred with minimum of three to six years’ experience working in a marketing department or a digital agency, preferably with experience in a business-to-consumer environment. Previous direct responsibility for managing SEO for a website with significant web traffic. Experience working for a retail business with geographically dispersed locations is a plus.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications (including Programs/systems experience)

  • A strong degree of content and technical SEO best practices
  • Strong knowledge of working in a CMS like Wordpress.
  • Experience using SEO Analysis tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Conductor, Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Screaming Frog, Content King, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to communicate easily with all levels of employees, business partners and customers
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment and discipline
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Creative thinker with a strong focus on innovation and desire to achieve constant improvement
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision
