Job Summary
This position is based in ZOLL's Resuscitation Division Scientific Affairs department. The focus is on developing medical device technologies that will improve treatment and outcomes for acute critical care patients, including those with cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma. Improving monitoring of physiologic parameters and therapies are among the core research targets. The Senior Scientist is responsible for the planning, management, analysis, and presentation of preclinical and clinical experiments in collaboration with other staff members. The Senior Scientist will also be a key participant on clinical trial development teams. The individual will establish and maintain relationships with KOL's and serve as a key liaison with them. The position will support other departments within the company with scientific support and clinical education. The Senior Scientist reports to the Director of Scientific Affairs.
Essential Functions
- Design of experiments and studies
- Develop protocols and IACUC submissions
- Collect data, analyze results, and produce reports
- Prepare abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts and present research at scientific meetings and to customers
- Participate in clinical development teams
- Maintain KOL relationships
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- PhD in a biomedical field required and
- MD with a relevant specialty required
- Experience in the hospital or EMS setting a plus preferred and
- 4+ years' experience in the design and implementation of clinical and/or pre clinical studies required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through presentations and publications
- Demonstrated skills in descriptive and basic analytical statistics
- Demonstrated understanding of human physiology
- Demonstrated understanding of respiratory physiology, cardiac electrophysiology, defibrillation therapy, medical devices, and the health care industry a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill as demonstrated through
