The Velocity business unit is a fast-moving start-up-like environment within the greater PTC organization. We are creating the next generation of engineering software TODAY and are building an exceptional team of professionals to help bring it to market. You will be working within a business unit that uses cutting-edge cloud, web, and mobile technologies.
As Senior Salesforce Developer, you will be responsible for supporting our Salesforce technical architecture design; actively participating in refining user stories, using web service technologies – REST, SOAP, and JSON to connect Salesforce with other systems, and developing automation using APEX classes, triggers, flows, validation rules, etc.
We are building out a world-class enterprise back-office leveraging tools such as Salesforce, Stripe, Amazon Redshift, and Looker to enable the business to both experiment and scale rapidly. You will work closely with the data analytics team, as well as with business unit leaders in our operations, sales, finance, product, and executive teams.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of VBU’s two Salesforce instances for the Onshape and Arena business
Develop high-quality APEX code and Flow design, supporting code reviews for Salesforce others’ Salesforce development work
Design and build integrations with the Onshape Product, Arena Product, Zuora, Eloqua, Drift, DocuSign, and other tools and systems
Manage implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of software updates
Implement the CPQ system and work with the Order Management team to automate and audit internal processes.
Meet with stakeholders to determine business, functional, and technical requirements and participate in application design, configuration, testing, and deployment
Utilize best practices to perform operational support, enhancements, and bug fixes as needed to the Salesforce.com platform
Drive major improvement projects, collaborating with end users/stakeholders, Salesforce Developers and Analytics team members
Provide technical assistance and end-user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and "how-to" assistance
Preferred skills/experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, or like degrees; MBA a plus
At least 5+ years of application development experience in large enterprise settings delivering solutions on the Salesforce platform using LWC, Apex, Visualforce, Triggers, SOQL, SOSL and AURA Components
At least 3+ years of experience in developing and documenting systems process flows
and solution designAt least 2+ years of experience with Salesforce CPQ or similar applications
Demonstrable knowledge/experience in using Jira to manage projects and tasks, Bitbucket and
using Github or other source code management tools in the creation of branches and maintenance of master branches of Salesforce APEX code and other Salesforce codeProfessional experience in authoring requirements, definition, design, and other related project and system documentation
Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration capabilities and ability to recommend best practices and identify areas where custom development is required
Demonstrable experience designing CI/CD pipelines and writing Infrastructure as Code
Preferable experience administering financial systems or working in sales operations
Demonstratable project management and leadership skills
Strong work ethic and natural curiosity around both finance and technology
Superior communications skills and end-user support experience
Salesforce PD1 and PD2 certification is a plus
