Senior Revenue Accountant

With top-line growth that will happen for years to come we are looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our expanding revenue team!
In this role you’ll get to:
Support Hubspot Revenue Recognition Close process, including posting journal entries, executing control procedures and preparing related disclosures for company filings.
Perform ongoing evaluation of our multi-element arrangements, including analyzing impact of changes related to pricing and performance obligations. Perform analyses over SSP and fair value accounting.
Review deal desk requests and signed customer agreements and to identify non-standard terms and conditions and determine proper accounting treatment under ASC 606
Act as a key resource in independently identifying and resolving revenue technical accounting, process, and sales related issues that arise on a day-to-day basis related to the Company’s products, pricing, and non-routine revenue transactions
Work with the Technical Accounting team on research and analysis of technical revenue recognition requirements for non-routine or new offerings
Partner with our Financial Operations team to understand the potential impact of company-wide initiatives on revenue recognition and determine relevant solutions to address the impact
Collaborate and coordinate with business partners to support business initiatives, drive process improvements, and implement policies and best practices
Partner with Product management on new SKU and roadmap development and review
Work with key IT contacts to maximize automation of revenue recognition and serve as a key participant in the implementation of a new revenue recognition system.
Participate in or lead ad hoc projects, as needed
Play a key role in coordination between Revenue Accounting and internal & external audit teams
Ensure compliance of key accounting controls for Sarbanes Oxley purposes
We are looking for people who have:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred
3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally a combination of public accounting firm and revenue accounting in the Tech industry
Solid understanding of revenue accounting under ASC 606
Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, Netsuite a plus
Big picture mindset to understand the impact of technical accounting decisions on the organization
Willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Strong oral and written skills and the ability to communicate with senior leaders

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
