We are seeking an outstanding Senior Research Associate to join the New Product Development group to perform Product Development activities for products in various stages of development. New Product Development acts as the interface between R&D and Production. The team is involved in all stages of Product Development from concept to post-launch activities.
All candidates must have excellent laboratory skills, ability to troubleshoot and an understanding of molecular biology. An ideal candidate will have experience with 10x assays, reagent manufacturing/optimization or QC development. This is a non-exempt temporary contract position with possibility of conversion.
This individual must be a self-starter, quick learner and detail oriented, work well in a team atmosphere, have good communication skills, ability to adapt and thrive in working in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment. What you will be doing: Execution of experiments for the development of novel spatial assay and/or single cell schemes including molecular barcoding, nucleic acid amplification, and NGS library preparation Support and perform systematic workflow and reagent optimization Work closely with other scientists to interpret data generated by novel and optimized assay schemes Test new materials, tools, and workflows to improve 10x's products. Work with key internal and external partners to help troubleshoot issues that may arise.
Run experiments to assess the impact of protocol, reagent, or process changes on 10x's spatial assays. Update manufacturing documents and initiate non-conformance reports or deviations as needed. Execute experiments according to defined procedures, maintain good documentation and present results.
Minimum Qualifications: BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, analytical chemistry, or related fields. 4 years (BS) or 2 years (MS) years of relevant experience in reagent or assay development and optimization, preferably in the Biotechnology industry. Experience with a broad variety of molecular biology and analytical techniques including sample preparation, PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid isolation, use of plate readers, Bioanalyzers, gel imagers, real-time PCR instruments, NGS and/or DNA sequencing etc.
Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines under supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Product development experience.
