The hiring pay range for this position is based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role; title may be assessed one level lower or higher, accordingly. Other components of total compensation include a competitive options grant at the time of hire (with potential for additional grants).

The Reagent & Metrology Development group plays a key role at Nautilus, integral to the successful development of our reagents and reagent kits. As a Senior Research Associate, Reagent Formulation Development, you will help develop formulations for Nautilus’ proprietary reagents, fit them into reagent kit format, and test their stability.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with team members to design and execute formulation and stability studies for incoming materials, intermediates, and final products in reagent production process.
- Perform analytical and functional testing in reagent formulation and stability studies.
- Prepare buffers and reagent formulations to support cross-functional projects in process development, assay development, and reagent kits development.
- Ensure data quality by being highly organized, detail oriented and following best practices.
- Maintain and organize work areas (including hoods, benches, chemical storage, and waste disposal).
Requirements
- BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with buffer preparation and exchange, and sterile filtration.
- Proficiency in formulation analytics (pH, conductivity, solubility, UV-Vis, HPLC, etc.)
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with analytical techniques for bioreagent characterization (fluorescence, electrophoresis, particle sizing, ELISA, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Flexibility and ability to respond to changing priorities and project directions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
