Under the general direction of the Center for Equity for English Learner's Executive Director and Director of Research and Policy, this position will be responsible for conducting public policy research and analysis, and overseeing the preparation of internal and external publications, briefings and presentations regarding CEEL's programs, initiatives and areas of focus.
Job Description:
- Conduct research on public education policies regarding education and bi-literacy at the local, state, and national levels. (20%)
- Evaluate the implementation of education policies at the system, local, and national levels. (10%)
- Monitor events, public policy decisions and trends and other issues with implications to the field of education. (10%)
- Forecast political, economic, and social trends. (10%)
- Oversee CEEL's efforts to gather, analyze, interpret, and disseminate public policy content to CEEL's internal and external stakeholders. (10%)
- Compose reports, publish findings and present recommendations to CEEL Executive Director, Director of Research and Policy, and Director of Programs and Partnerships. (20%)
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by CEEL Executive Director and Director of Programs and Partnerships. (10%)
- Represent CEEL at local, state, and national public policy meetings. (10%)

Requisite Qualifications
- Typically a M.A. in political science, public policy with comparable experience in education, doctorate preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in progressively responsible positions directly involved in research
- Experience with schools and school systems responding to the needs of linguistically diverse students in the PK-12 system
- Knowledge of research and evidenced-based programs, curriculum and instructional principles and practices appropriate for linguistically diverse students in multilingual settings
- Extensive knowledge of research designs and methodologies in first and second language acquisition
- Experience with managing budgets and grant writing
- Effective organization and management techniques
- Effective writing and communication skills
- Bilingual capability is desirable

$72,500.00 - $103,314.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
