Job Description
The project manager analyzes new and complex project related problems and creates innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and other solution components. The project manager support consists of Senior Project Manager and Project Manager.
Work Description:
· Leads team on large projects or significant segments of large complex projects.
· Facilitates the strategic management process and provides consulting expertise and project management for specific strategic initiatives that are deemed high risk or critical to success of the Unit/Section.
· Provides applications systems analysis and programming activities for multiple Government sites and/or facilities.
· Oversees all aspects of projects, including the preparation of long and short-range plans for necessary support resources.
· Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget, and schedule.
· Demonstrates ability to identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
· Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, and secure customer approvals. Assesses change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risk.
Senior Project Manager Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least ten (10) years of complex project management experience in Government programs, projects and/or activities. Educational requirement may be waived if the candidate has fifteen (15) or more years of experience.
· Ten (10) years or more of managing all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk) for various types of projects.
· Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
· Eight (8) years or more experience providing written and oral reports to management, customers and stakeholders regrading progress of projects.
