Location: Hybrid. This position will require onsite presence two times a week at our headquarters in Bowie, Maryland.
Overview The Senior Project Manager role is responsible for the overall commercialization process of new Products. The incumbent will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure innovative projects are planned and delivered with quality. They will develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products and services of the Company to achieve product development and functionality and lead end to end execution of Product commercialization strategies, ensuring successful launches and market integration.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary focus is to oversee and manage the entire commercialization process, from concept to market launch, ensuring alignment with the organizational goals and timeline;
- Define, plan and manage all project management related activities that are part of the commercialization effort; facilitating effective communication and collaboration among diverse teams, including product development, marketing, sales, and implementation to ensure seamless integration of commercialization strategies;
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to inform commercialization strategies, identifying opportunities for growth and market penetration;
- Develop and maintain a professional level of knowledge regarding the products, services and related infrastructure of the Company to have a business context for making decisions;
- Drive the optimization of the existing PM methodology within an Agile environment;
- Manage projects by defining scope, schedules, deliverables and risk plans;
- Focus on regular and timely delivery of value;
- Organize and lead project status, prepare and distribute progress reports and correct deviations from plans;
- Improve and maintain up-to-date organizational process assets, including templates, to ensure that processes are thoroughly documented and followed.
- Support Project Management Office to rollout tactical improvements and project management best practices for both Agile and Waterfall;
- Develop project teams by holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work;
- Manage interdependencies, leverage organizational resources to improve capacity for program work; coordinate with resource managers to insure appropriate levels of resource utilization across projects;
- Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
- Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
- Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with a focus on product commercialization
- Knowledgeable in PMBOK/PMI project management principles and theories;
- Scrum Afile/SAFe experience is preferred;
- Familiarity with commercialization processes, including product positioning, pricing and market entry strategies.
- Strong leadership skills; steward change through the department as necessary focusing on a collaborative approach and buy-in with the constituents;
- Proven ability to initiate and drive projects through to completion;
- Confidence and ability to influence and written team members and business partners toward common goals;
- Must possess superior oral and written communication skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables;
- Ability to interface comfortably with the senior leaders to develop an understanding of needs. Must be responsive, action-oriented and able to build trust with various stakeholders;
- Project Management skills: project initiation, project plan creation, resource allocation, time/schedule management, risk management, budget tracking, prioritization, status; and
- Proven success in delivering projects in a fast-paced, matrix resource organization.
Education:
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent is preferred;
- PMP certification, or equivalent, is highly desired;
- PMI-ACP certification, or equivalent, is a plus.
The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
