MNS is hiring a Senior Project Engineer to manage transportation design projects profitably and deliver an excellent work product to the client; Mentor and transition work to staff; Assist with recruitment, writing proposals, and managing clients in the transportation market sector.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply a broad knowledge of principles and practices to perform engineering design tasks for roadway and drainage projects from conceptual to final design, and planning/technical studies
- Independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
- Execute work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects
- Utilize a solid working knowledge of an entire project life cycle
- Prepare complete project documents, including plan, specifications, and studies
- Utilize a strong working knowledge of roadway and drainage design software tools
- Mentor and develop junior staff while providing valuable input into design Best Practices
- Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work among staff
- Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
- Assist with business development, client relations, and proposals to provide professional services
- Coordinate design activities and meetings between staff, subcontractors, and clients
- Complete tasks within schedule and budget with teams comprised of different disciplines, identify schedule and cost variances, and develop and implement recommendations for corrective action
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Licensure, or Certification Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer License in California
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
- Valid California Driver License
Minimum Experience Required
- 10 years, Minimum experience of 3 years as a Project Engineer
