JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Program Manager will provide day-to-day management of public health projects funded under the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC) and management of staff supporting those projects. NNCC's public health programs provide an array of resources and materials to strengthen and sustain NNCC members, health centers, and other national stakeholder infrastructure. NNCC's regional direct service programs offer public health education through home visiting and community workshops to address social determinants of health. These projects are funded by various sources, including federal and state grants and private corporations. The Senior Program Manager acts as the direct liaison with the funding agencies and is responsible for all reporting requirements under their management. The portfolio of projects may be subject to change as projects evolve and/or new funding opportunities arise.
This position is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Senior Program Manager will report directly to the Director of Workforce Development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee all aspects of the AmeriCorps program(s) and outreach projects, including day-to-day operations and compliance with project budget and deliverables.
- Monitor all project expenditures and budgets with the support of the Director.
- Recruit and engage new host site organizations for placement of AmeriCorps members.
- Execute and manage contracts and Letters of Agreement with host sites, service providers, and vendors.
- Manage and support all grant reports to funders.
- Communicate regularly with AmeriCorps program funders, site supervisors, and members.
- Communicate regularly with Geisinger and other external stakeholders for the HRSA Preceptor Grant with PA-AC.
- Manage operations of HRSA Preceptor Advisory Board and subcommittee meetings, including monthly virtual meetings.
- Support the PA-AC team with mentorship program activities including recruitment and onboarding of mentors and students.
- Support the creation of web-based professional development opportunities for AmeriCorps members to collaborate during their service year, both through teleservice and in-person service.
- Recruit new AmeriCorps member candidates for open positions and onboard as needed.
- Oversee program marketing through a web-based email system, social media presence, and partner communications.
- Support submission of proposals and grants to further NNCC AmeriCorps programming.
- Staff Oversight:
- Supervise Public Health Project Coordinator, up to 30 AmeriCorps Members, and/or interns.
- Mentor and support Public Health Public Health Project Coordinator and AmeriCorps members.
- Strategic Partnership Development:
- Represent NNCC's public health programs at local, state, and national conferences.
- Work with the Director of Workforce Development to represent NNCC's programming among local and national audiences.
- Work with NNCC senior leadership to effectively represent the interests of NNCC members and other stakeholders to build national, regional, and local support for nurse-managed and other community health centers.
- Actively participate in local, regional, and/or national coalitions for topics supporting NNCC's programs, services, and client population.
- Organizational Development:
- Develop new business opportunities to diversify revenue streams to build the long-term sustainability of NNCC's public health programming.
- Identify and secure opportunities to sustain and grow funding for NNCC's public health programs.
- Support the Director of Workforce Development in the management of program budgets.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
- Support the development of NNCC public health programming that takes into account the impact of institutional racism on health and wellness.
- Encourage diversity and equity in hiring policies and contracting when developing public health program plans.
- Contribute to the development of metrics and collection of data to help NNCC measure the impact of its DEI policies and procedures.
- Participate in required trainings and events to help NNCC create an anti-racist, inclusive workspace for staff.
SKILLS:
- The Senior Program Manager must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express themself concisely and clearly. The successful candidate must have a professional, friendly demeanor and strong verbal presentation skills by phone and in person. They must have the confidence to communicate effectively with executive directors and executive staff of other collaborating national and regional organizations and federal officials related to the programs.
- The Senior Program Manager must be able to prioritize multiple projects and lead a team. Strong organizational skills are required, including the ability to prioritize work projects, work under tight deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with supervisors. Strong fiscal and budgetary skills are also required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience in program development, program management, management of consulting services, communications/marketing, and/or operations within community-based healthcare or a related field
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with webinar hosting preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
EDUCATION: Master's degree in public health, public administration/policy, or equivalent
