American Express’ Global Commercial Services (GCS) business offers a wide range of card and payment programs, expense management tools, consulting services, business financing and cross-border payments solutions to small businesses, mid-sized companies, and large corporations around the world.

The Product Management team within Supply Chain Solutions and Partnerships (SCSP) operates within the broader organization to develop solutions and digital products for multiple growth segments of American Express. Specifically, we lead the supplier payments product strategy to create best-in-class B2B digital solutions for Large & Global buyers and their suppliers.

How will you make an impact in this role?

SCSP is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive Platform Operations efforts across our B2B products in the Global & Large (G&L) space. Our Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP) product supports the large and global segment to streamline accounts payables processing and reconciliation while generating cash flow. This role will focus on supporting a platform transformation initiative which will drive the modernization of our current platforms – critical given the high-priority customer segment on them. Included in this work:

  • Assess, construct and deliver a robust operational change management agenda that will support the technical delivery of the upgraded platform
  • Assess customer impact as part of the platform change management and drive workstreams to support customers through the transition as needed
  • Work collaboratively with all key business partners and collaborators to ensure that all key deliverables required are considered
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are considered in transitioning our products to a new platform
  • Ensure all business partners responsible for workstreams are delivering in accordance with the milestones and project objectives / deliverables
  • Build close and collaborative relationships with multiple internal partners as well as external partners, being the connective tissue across teams to drive a successful project and customer outcome
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategy in partnership with marketing, product development and the field, including the creation of marketing collateral
  • Deliver results that require a strong coordination and alignment across multiple teams, including Global Product Management/Development, Sales, Partnerships, Servicing, Operations, Legal & Compliance, among others

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a product role
  • Strong knowledge of B2B payments and associated customer needs
  • Strong organizational skills to lead projects and prioritize against a robust set of customer requirements
  • Strong relationship management abilities across a diverse network, including collaborating with and influencing partners both in-person and virtually
  • Ability to influence key business partners on the priority of work to be done
  • Experience and comfort in leading large-scale migrations of customers and prioritizing work with key partners to formulate working with internal partners to drive outcomes
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset that embraces change and is adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, self-starter with an execution approach and outstanding project management skills
  • Proven track record of solving complex business challenges, showing the initiative required to figure out solutions and navigate ambiguity to chart a path forward
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with demonstrable experience leading or working with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, with proven ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely to audiences at all levels, including to Senior Product and Commercial leadership
  • Strong customer focus with ability to translate customer challenges and marketplace understanding into outstanding and economically viable solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in product management
  • Experience in Supply Chain finance and/or receivables finance, FinTech or digital payments platform/provider

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
