Production Manager

TITLE: Department Manager - ExtrusionPAY PLAN: Salary exempt

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Manage and direct all activities relating to Manufacturing operations of the Macedon, NY Plant to ensure that components are produced that meet or exceed ABX customer expectations by performing the following duties.

WORK PERFORMED:

• Monitor, track and analyze production efficiencies in Manufacturing
• Develop programs for continuous improvement.
• Delegate daily work assignments to Shift Supervisors.
• Meet operational needs and requirements within budget.
• Plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines in an environment with constantly changing priorities.
• Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
• Assess skills, perform reviews, provide training and resources required to develop employees.
• Plan, develop and implement strategic action plans in conjunction with fiscal budget planning.
• Develop or revise standard operation procedures and observes team to ensure compliance.
• Communicate to the organization the importance of meeting customer as well as statutory regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrates understanding of quality checks and documentation
• Promote plant goals such as Safety, Quality, and Production.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

• Cast or Blown Film Extrusion experience required, with preference to Blown Film experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) or equivalent preferred; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards software and Kronos timekeeping software as well as other business productivity software such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office and Plant Minder.
• Possess basic functional knowledge of the operation of Extrusion equipment and process.

• Capable of, and commit to follow the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines and ISO procedure

• Able to work overtime as required
