About the Role

This role offers the unique opportunity to own the design process from inception to launch. Your day-to-day will involve conducting user research, ideation, crafting prototypes, and executing user testing to implementation. Your work will translate complex product requirements into intuitive and engaging designs, enhancing user satisfaction and contributing significantly to our user's experience.

What you’ll do:

• Own the design process from concept to launch, including user research, ideation, prototyping, user testing, and implementation.
• Develop and maintain design wireframes, mockups, component libraries, iconography, and specifications as necessary for the engineering team to build out the product.
• Translate complex product requirements into delightful and usable designs that enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
• Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to define and refine product features and roadmap.
• Utilize data-driven insights from user research and analytics to inform design decisions and iterate upon existing features.
• Contribute to the design culture at Absorb pushing the boundaries of design innovation and quality.

What you’ll bring:

• A degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in product design with a proven track record of designing and shipping successful software products.
• Strong portfolio showcasing the quality of your work in product design, including examples of mobile and web solutions.
• Experience with responsive design and an understanding of the best practices for designing across a variety of devices and platforms.
• Expert knowledge of designing, prototyping and engineering collaboration in Figma; strong collaboration skills with engineering and product leads.
• Experience in working with, contributing to and evolving design systems; strong UI design skills.
• Experience in UX research and its application in design thinking process.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate your design vision and decisions clearly to different stakeholders.

Nice to haves:

• Experience in marketing design and data visualization.
• Experience in the eLearning industry or designing educational technology products.
• Knowledge of front-end development languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React).
• Familiarity with agile development processes and tools like JIRA.
