Senior Product Designer, Design Systems

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Product Designer to join our growing Product Design organization.

As part of this team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to help shape our new enterprise design system, Mindful, with a focus on both mobile and web. You’ll work closely with other designers and engineers to develop, maintain, and evolve it, ensuring the patterns we recommend are those that work best for our users. You’ll be the primary designer responsible for creating accessible UI components, foundational patterns, tools, and documentation that empowers our overall design vision. You’ll identify opportunity areas, establish processes, work cross functionally, and collaborate with design leadership to scale impact. You will also participate in design thinking workshops and design user experiences within our products as needed to support product roadmaps.

This role is a unique opportunity in the Product organization and is critical in developing and maintaining our enterprise design system while advocating industry standards and best practices. Expect to get your hands dirty to start.

Responsibilities:

Ø Work closely with Product Design and Research, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing.

Ø Lead the design of useful, usable, and delightful design patterns in a team atmosphere.

Ø Present work to teams and stakeholders for review and act on feedback.

Ø Work closely with engineering to build robust, polished components.

Ø Help advance the strategic implementation of our design system using user-centered design methods for both mobile and web.

Ø Design responsive, adaptive, and accessible components and modular design patterns.

Ø Work within brand guidelines to ensure components are using the consistent design language.

Ø Clearly document and maintain up-to-date guidelines, usage, specifications, accessibility standards, and more for components and patterns.

Ø Leverage DevMode features in Figma to accelerate development with engineering.

Ø Be a proactive self-starter that can independently implement high-level direction.

Ø Mentor fellow Designers.

Ø Participate in design reviews to ensure design system adoption and to address new components when the need arises.

Required Qualifications:

Ø Ideally 5+ years of industry experience as a Systems Designer, or a combination as a Product Designer and Systems Designer.

Ø Proficiency with Figma auto-layout, components, libraries, branching, styles, and variables.

Ø Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in iterative product development lifecycles.

Ø Experience with UX design for complex workflows.

Ø Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering pixel-perfect design assets.

Ø Experience working on design systems or a Product Designer at a digital product company, contributing to or leading the design and execution of mobile and SaaS product experiences.

Ø An online portfolio showcasing design deliverables for mobile and web is required to apply for this role.

Ø Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience and a high school diploma/GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ø Strong visual design skills.

Ø Experience with Material UI.

Ø Motion design experience.

Ø Strong understanding of ADA and WCAG compliance standards.

Ø Experience designing and prototyping with Figma and other design tools and maintaining a well-constructed component library including maintaining component usage guidance.

Ø Strong technical ability with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Ø Strong understanding of how to leverage Figma DevMode to accelerate design and development.
