This is responsible professional and administrative work in complex planning and transportation activities. This position assists with the receipt, allocation, expenditures and reporting of Federal and State grants; Responsibilities also include organizing and coordinating the advanced and more complex studies, analyzing research data and preparing written summary reports. Work is performed under the guidance of the Zoning Manager and is reviewed through reports, conferences, and results attained.
- Determines data needs for complex studies. Collects, analyzes and evaluates the data for the studies. Prepare related reports, projects and exhibits as appropriate. Participates in preparation of long range planning studies and Comprehensive Plan.
- Maintains the Future Land use Plan Map and assists with all Geographic Information Systems (GIS) needs of Community Development staff.
- Assists the administrative responsibilities for and presentation to the Planning and Zoning Board and other appropriate boards/committees as directed.
- Assist the Neighborhood Services Division with Federal and State grant programs.
- Maintains records of statistical data. Supplies data as requested.
- Creates and updates as needed, the PDF maps posted on the City's website (water districts, drainage districts, roadways, etc.)
- Researches foreclosure trends, data mining, tables, graphs and maps.
- Creates and updates all content for the Facts About Coral Springs webpage on the City website - download demographic and socioeconomic data from the census, create tables, graphs and maps.
- Provides demographic update (data, tables, graphs) with latest American Community Survey (ACS) for the Environmental Scan section of the business plan.
Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation, Public Administration, or other directly related field. Master's Degree preferred. Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in community development, including federal and state grant programs or transportation management programs; grants management and GIS experience preferred but not required.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving.
