PEOPLE EXPERIENCE SPECIALIST FOR ACTIVE ENTERPRISES
We are currently seeking a strategic and dynamic People Specialist to lead all aspects of people operations at Active Enterprises. This role requires a comprehensive approach to managing employee lifecycle, ensuring HR compliance, enhancing recruitment and onboarding, and cultivating a vibrant company culture. The ideal candidate will be adept at strategic HR leadership, including process management, and will have a keen focus on fostering employee engagement through various initiatives and events.
This role will sit on the Executive Team of Active Enterprises and help support all entities of the company including Little Kickers Swim School and Kickin’ It Kids Gym. It is a highly collaborative position working with many stakeholders in the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic HR Leadership and Process Management:
Develop and implement overarching HR strategies aligned with company objectives.
Provide visionary leadership and direction in the development of HR policies and practices.
Lead the strategic assessment and optimization of HR systems and processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage, analyze, and streamline people, culture, and HR processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
Track and goal set KPIs for the department including recruiting life cycle KPIs, employment and turnover rates, engagement rates, eNPS and other important metrics.
Employee Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring a smooth and effective process including: recruitment, hiring, interviewing, performance management, career paths, HR and performance issues, separations, rewards and recognition, etc.
Develop and implement strategies for employee development, career progression, and succession planning.
Oversee compensation and benefits strategy and execution in collaboration with the AE leadership team and onsite GMs.
HR Compliance and Systems Management:
Ensure all HR operations comply with legal standards and best practices.
Develop and enforce policies that prevent discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all employees.
Oversee payroll systems and processes, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance.
Execute and audit payroll for AE, LK, and KI.
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Employee Relations:
Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans to attract and retain top talent, utilizing support when necessary.
Actively engage in daily and ongoing recruiting efforts, utilizing both internal staff and outsourced recruiters to continually identify and attract top talent.
Innovate and manage onboarding programs for seamless integration of new employees.
Act as a strategic advisor for employee relations, promoting a respectful and collaborative work environment. Be a safe space for employees to talk to if issues arise.
Culture and Employee Engagement:
Champion the development and nurturing of a positive, inclusive company culture.
Lead and organize employee engagement initiatives and events to boost morale and foster a sense of community. Coordinate and utilize the KI and LK engagement teams to help strategize and execute the plans.
Oversee and lead the Employee Engagement Committee.
Strategize on ways to continuously improve employee satisfaction and retention.
Conduct and analyze employee surveys and other means of feedback.
Professional Development and Training:
Design and implement professional development programs aligned with business goals.
Foster continuous learning and career advancement opportunities.
Collaborate with managers to identify and address specific team training needs.
Assess and enhance the effectiveness of training programs including but not limited to customer service and FOH training, instructor and coach training, leadership and management training, etc.
Internal Leadership and Management:
Manage a comprehensive performance management system including regular employee evaluations and check-ins.
Develop leadership programs to cultivate internal management talent.
Provide training to managers on team leadership and conflict resolution.
Guide and support managers in employee relations and team dynamics.
Manage engagement and recruiting support and consultants assisting with aspects of the people and culture process.
PAY
Salary range: $100-120K annually
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 7-10 years overall HR experience, with 3-5 years with strategic leadership & management role.
Proven expertise in HR strategy, process management, and employee engagement.
Extensive knowledge of HR compliance and labor laws.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
3 years of experience managing an HRIS and other HR systems.
Self starter, someone who likes to work with a lot of autonomy.
