Senior Organic Chemist - Phd Level

Biopharmaceutical start-up in Thousand Oaks is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and hands-on Organic Chemist to join our team! This is a project-based, contract for 3-6 months.

REQUIREMENTS:

• PhD in Chemistry discipline (open to candidates who have just completed their research!)
• Organic Synthesis
• Experience with Amine Bonds and Peptides
• NMR and Mass Spectrometry

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize synthetic methods for both small molecules and hemoglobin derivatives
• Purify and characterize the reaction products using appropriate purification methods and analytical equipment
• Design and carry out reactions to prepare organic compounds of interest, including the purification and analytical methods needed to isolate and characterize reaction products
• Prepare written documentation of experimental procedures and results
• Help establish quality control protocols and solve problems routinely encountered in the laboratory

Organic synthesis, amine bonds, peptides, NMR, mass spectrometry, IR, HPLC, UV-Visible spectrophotometer
