Senior Network Engineer

Summary:
K2 Services is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with advanced skills in Fortinet with global, enterprise experience, and a willingness to learn Palo Alto and Arista switches. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex networks, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. This role involves providing technical leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving initiatives to optimize network architecture.
Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of a robust and scalable network infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Network Engineers.
• Configure and manage firewalls using Fortinet technologies to ensure the highest level of security.
• Design and implement complex routing and switching solutions using Cisco or Arista switches.
• Acts as the liaison and subject matter expert between the architecture, security, and engineering teams to integrate technical solutions to existing multifaceted, complex, customer facing production environments.
• Responsible for change management procedures and detailed ownership, planning, and execution of highly complex, secure, high risk, multifaceted changes.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams and individuals as appropriate.
• Acts as one of the top-level escalation points for all networks and related technical designs.
• Respond, analyze, and follow up on outstanding network issues at all levels; ensure timely problem resolution.
• Strive to improve communications and teamwork across organizations.
• Other key functions include carrier management, incident management, problem management, capacity management, service acceptance, event management, performance management, and standards compliance, with a focus on service restoration, sustainability, and proactive service improvement.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ year's experience in a large multi-platform environment or equivalent technical experience.
• Proven experience with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN.
• Proven experience with Fortinet Secure Access Service Edge (SASE).
• Proven experience with Fortinet Cloud Access Security broker (CASB).
• of networking protocols, security, and infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet products.
• Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist Network Security.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE).
• Strong analytical\trouble shooting skills with extensive work experience; experience in providing situational analysis for networking\telecommunications.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Excellent customer orientation, support, and interfacing experience with ability to persuade, convince, or influence others to take appropriate action.
• Ability to lead and impact others at all levels of the organization. 
• Proven success in dealing with concurrent problems and issues effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Advanced understanding of business strategy as it relates to network environment.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with virtualization technologies.
2. Familiarity with cloud networking solutions.
3. Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts.
4. Scripting or automation skills for network-related tasks.
