Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Network Engineer to join our dynamic team in Brooklyn, NY. As a Lead Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SolarWinds, possess a minimum CCNA/CCNP certification, and be ready to take on a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Design and Implementation:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable network solutions.
• Ensure network infrastructure meets performance and security standards.

SolarWinds Expertise:

• Utilize SolarWinds to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance.

• Implement SolarWinds best practices for effective network management.

Troubleshooting and Onsite Support:

• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for network-related issues.
• Ready to go onsite as needed for critical troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Rotational Shifts:

• Work in rotational shifts to provide continuous support and ensure 24/7 network availability.
• Collaborate with team members to manage and distribute workload effectively.

Leadership and Mentorship:

• Lead and mentor a team of Network Engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.
• Create and update network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

Security Compliance:

• Implement and enforce security policies to protect the network infrastructure.
• Stay current with industry best practices and security standards.

Rate Negotiation:

Negotiate and manage rates for network services and equipment procurement.

Qualifications:

• Minimum CCNA/CCNP certification.
• Proven experience with SolarWinds for network monitoring and management.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.
• Previous experience in a lead or Senior Network Engineering role.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Industry certifications such as CCIE or SolarWinds certification.
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Experience with network automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of network virtualization technologies.

Additional Requirements:

• Possession of a car is preferred.
• Willingness to go onsite for troubleshooting and support as required.
• Ready to work in rotational shifts.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• On call
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• Network engineering: 10 years (Preferred)
• Solarwinds: 5 years (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:
