Job Description
6 month Contract-to-hire.
Must be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
This person will primarily work remotely, but will need to come to the office to deploy equipment at times.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Will be involved with large scale deployments, infrastructure design and solution integration project for an enterprise network environment.
- Will be involved with design, planning, implementing and supporting private, public, and hybrid cloud network solutions and connectivity.
- Will be a senior escalation resource support service desk, system and security teams to resolve high priority customer issues.
- Will ensure high availability and solid performance of critical network components.
- Will monitor and analyze network performance, communication technical and operational issues.
- Able to demonstrate strong hands-on experience to include leading projects, mentoring Network Engineers, supporting multiple platforms, incident resolution, and escalation support.
- Understanding of legacy telephony and VOIP systems.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years Network Engineering strategy, architecture and implementation experience; must have enterprise level experience
- 4+ years Firewall experience such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, etc.; able to implement firewalls from the ground up, work with rule sets, etc.
- Strong experience with SD-WAN technologies (Meraki, Versa, Viptela, Silver Peak)
- Understanding of remote access technologies such a Citrix, Palo Alto Global Protect, IPSec VPN, etc.
- Must have strong routing protocol experience with EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
- Experience with Cisco Nexus Switches
- Proficient in Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and routing, packet capture tools (WireShark)
- Strong understanding of OSI model and IPv4 protocol suite
- Experience with WLAN technologies such as Flex Connect, Wifi 6, 802.11x, etc.
- Strong understanding of routing, traffic engineering, QoS/DSCP, IPv4/IPv6, DHCP, DNS
- Solid grasp of industry best practices, compliance and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solver!
- Able to lead or be the point person for network projects and/or escalations; solid experience mentoring junior team members
