Senior MEMS Process Engineer
Santa Barbara, CA
Your Tasks:
We are seeking an individual with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, with knowledge of MEMS design and Process Engineering to help drive the development of innovative new products. Our products are used for research and clinical applications focused on immunotherapy for fighting cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other genetic disorders, and in this position, you will be contributing to these causes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to key development efforts through the application of your engineering knowledge.
• Perform mechanical design using CAD, FEM, and CFD modeling.
• Perform reticle and mask layout, including design tracking and version control.
• Work with a local MEMS manufacturing partner to develop new processes and coordinate development and production.
• Perform experimental investigations to confirm the behavior and performance of MEMS and microfluidic designs, using non-biological and biological (BSL-II) samples, often as part of a collaborative team.
• Work in conjunction with Biological Application Development Scientists to advance the performance and features of our systems.
• Improve manufacturing process control and capability though design and collaborative MEMS process development and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate as part of a global and interdisciplinary development team in research, development, test, and production of MEMS devices.
• Generate reports and experimental results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with knowledge of mechanical design and computational modeling for development of MEMS; A minimum of two years of engineering experience working in the field of MEMS; A combination of education and experience.
• Experience with biological applications preferred.
• Knowledge of Comsol, ANSYS, or other finite element/finite volume modeling programs and CAD packages like SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or AutoCAD.
• Ability to work in both a laboratory and office environment.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

This person will have an office environment which is temperature controlled. This job is performed in a temperature-controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Employees must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as masks, glasses and gloves when entering the manufacturing and/or laboratory environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The anticipated base salary range has been established at $112,320 -$168,480/year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary range represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
