JOB DESCRIPTION
Title:Senior MEMS Design Engineer

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Seek motivated and creative individual to work in a fast-paced, market-oriented R&D team environment developing MEMS technology for microphones, and related mobile platform applications. Strong preference will be given for experience with MEMS design, characterization, and modeling/simulation. Other desirable background experiences include MEMS processing and acoustics. Candidate will be expected to offer creative insights and solutions for R&D problems, with direct responsibilities for developing new design concepts and architectures, modeling/simulation, characterization, design and analysis of experiments, and written and oral presentations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Aid in the design, analysis, and characterization of MEMS devices
- Streamline and improve automated processes for MEMS design, characterization, and analysis
- Analyze data, design experiments, develop meaningful conclusions, and produce written summaries of results
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams including MEMS, circuits, systems, and packaging
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or acoustical) or physics with 3-5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong diagnostic, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Strong fundamentals in second-order electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Coding proficiency: Experience in Python, Matlab, and LISP/SKILL preferred
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS or PhD degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or acoustical) or physics
- Experience with at least 2-3 of the following:
- Cadence or similar EDA tools: VSE, ADE, VLS, Spectre, and SKILL
- Finite-element analysis: Comsol or Ansys preferred
- Lumped-parameter modeling of MEMS, transducers, mechanical, or acoustical systems
- Design optimization techniques (DOE, machine learning, etc.)
- ANC or acoustic beamforming algorithms
- MEMS or IC layout & verification
- Simulink, Modelica, or SystemModeler
- Coventor MEMS+ and CoventorWare
