Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Exton, PA (position can be remote, but will require occasional travel to/from Exton)
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Status: Exempt

Job Summary:
PIC Group is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work for one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have the opportunity to work on infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the country. The Senior Mechanical Engineer position requires working on technically complex design/build projects in the_ industrial, chemical, biotech, pharmaceutical, and food industries. _This position is able to work in the office, in a hybrid capacity, or remote.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a range of Mechanical Engineering activities associated with delivering successful solutions to our clients in the food and beverage, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical industries, and specialty chemical industries.
• Work directly with clients to define project requirements and deliver appropriate solutions to meet the stated needs based on a defined budget and schedule. This work is done in conjunction with members of other disciplines.
• Develop engineering documents associated with projects at various stages of execution from Conceptual Design, construction documents, P&ID’s, supporting cost estimating, etc.
• Verify the correct implementation of the systems as designed and compliance with applicable standards (e.g. cGMPs) during the execution phase.
• Execute projects varying in size with a focus on projects of larger scope and/or higher technical complexity.
• Ensure the quality of design documents.
• Develop junior engineers.
• Reinforce an atmosphere of safety and a commitment to design excellence.
• Complete Quality Management Training and comply with the program upholding a commitment to a culture of quality in all aspects of work.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of requirements of cGMP, regulatory guidelines and clean design practices.
• Ability to write specifications for piping systems including utility and clean utilities.
• Knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA and OSHA as it relates to manufacturing facilities and hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of startup and commissioning of both mechanical and process systems.
• Familiar with Industrial Ventilation principals and understanding of HVAC systems.
• Ability to recognize and handling of combustible dusts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills allowing for effective communication in multidisciplinary project teams involving representatives from the client.
• Results oriented, with good organization skills, attention to detail, and the capability of efficiently working simultaneously on multiple projects.
• Positive perspective with the ability to engender a team attitude amongst colleagues and clients.
• Computer knowledge: MS Office and MS Project

Physical Requirements:

• Office environment with travel to customer sites as required.
• While on site, may require protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.)

Education / Experience:

• BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• _ 15+ yrs. experience_ in process engineering preferably in our core industries of chemical, biotech, pharmaceutical, and food/beverage.

Pay: $94,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
