***This is a CONTRACT position for a minimum of 6 months but could go up to 12 months and could lead to direct hire.***
This is a HYBRID position with Mondays and Fridays working from home and Tues-Wed-Thurs working in the office in Southfield. Will consider 100% WFH if an ideal candidate is located more than 75 miles from the office.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Mechanical Designer / Checker / Body Welding experience / NX
NO Product Designers will be considered
Able to work under minimal supervision, carries out a variety of moderately complex to complex design assignments, exercising considerable to extensive latitude in the use of initiatives and independent judgment.
Prepares sketches or completes detail and layout drawings from verbal or written instructions on product or plant equipment.
Works independently on the development of original designs or adaptations requiring specialized experience.
- 5+ years Mechanical Design and Engineering experience in Body Welding
- 5+ years experience with NX CAD software (GM Toolkit)
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Ability to travel domestically (5-10%) as project needs
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
