As the Senior Manager, Student Programs, you will play a pivotal role in empowering youth both nationally and internationally to contribute to positive change through various programs focused on advocacy, education, leadership, and service. This position demands a seasoned professional capable of effectively collaborating to design, develop, and host events for students from elementary to university levels.
Essential Functions:
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and nurture relationships with student groups, parents, teachers, administrators, and relevant organizations to foster engagement and participation.
- Collaborate with AVP to manage budget reports for activities in the Virginia region.
Program Management:
- Maintain and enhance existing relationships with student groups, overseeing events, fundraisers, school clubs, regional summits, and international mobility programs.
- Collaborate with the Director, Strategic Initiative, and Administrative Coordinator for planning and executing local events, programs, and fundraisers.
Communication and Database Management:
- Ensure timely and effective communication with students and supporters through various channels.
- Update and maintain the Student Programs database with accurate contact information.
- Utilize collected data to drive engagement and fundraising strategies.
Event Coordination:
- Co-lead and implement student group field trips.
- Assist in planning, executing, and wrapping up the annual International Student Leadership Conference and Step-Up Symposium.
Professional Development:
- Seek opportunities for professional growth in working with youth, service learning, and leadership.
- Attend global conferences and events as needed.
- Additional duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 2-4 years experience working with youth required. Position will engage elementary through university students.
- Prior experience with planning events, conferences and/or workshops is required.
- Prior experience with fundraising, development, and writing grants or proposals is essential.

- Previous involvement with Operation Smile is preferred.
