Position summary:
The Sr Manager, Quality Lab Operations leads a teams of scientists and technicians responsible for monitoring product quality by performing tests to support marketed and pre-marketed product formulations in accordance with SOPs and regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Builds and leads an innovative, engaged, enabled and high performing team
- Manages workload priorities for analytical and microbiological testing of clinical trial materials, raw materials, and stability samples
- Evaluates new method transfers and provides feedback to the product development teams for improvement opportunities
- Reviews and approves laboratory data
- Manages team priorities to meet project team milestones
- Develops resource plans to meet work priorities and adjust to changing needs.
- Governs processes to assure timely and accurate data in a GMP setting
- Manages processes in laboratory management and quality management systems
- Maintains a safe and complaint work environment by following standards, procedures, and company regulations
- Supports internal and external regulatory audits of function
- Leads functional management review
- Leads process improvement activities
- Partners with R&D to improve processess with new methodologies and method transfers
Qualifications/experience:
- BS in Chemistry, or related field, with 10 years management experience in a GMP laboratory and/or quality (preferably in pharmaceutical or medical device industry)
- Previous work experience in a GMP analytical or microbiology laboratory
- Leadership of a QC chemistry or microbiology team
- Methods validation experience (chemistry or micro)
As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $125,000 - $175,000.
