Distributed Platform Engineering Senior Manager

As the Distributed Platform Engineering Senior Manager at Capital Group, you will be responsible for leading the Plan, Building, and Transitioning services in partnership with Engineering Leadership across the Capital Group Platform Engineering Portfolio. This role will have purview to look across the Platform Engineering space and assist existing leadership with technology challenges, critical infrastructure application architecture programs, and key senior development deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a rich background complete with management acumen, deep technology skills with a focus on software development foundations and Public Cloud Platform enablement.
Responsibilities:

• Provide cross-functional design and engineering leadership across the Platform Engineering portfolio of products and services.
• Collaborate and partner with existing Platform Engineering Leadership on the delivery of key Products within Capital Group's next generation GitOps based IaC Platform.
• Assist in the strategy, development and execution of key Platform, financial and service management platforms across the ITSM portfolio of services.
• Work with the security team to ensure that the company's infrastructure is secure and compliant with all applicable regulations.
• Partner with Capital Group architecture teams, solution principles and application leadership on the creation, syndication and adoption of key standards and capabilities.
• Stay current on the latest infrastructure technologies and trends especially in relation to Cloud technologies, Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, and Observability.
• Manage lean group of solution experts and developers with a focus on engagement across the Engineering portfolio, contribution, and acceleration of key deliverables.

• You have 10+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture and design.
• You have 10+ years of experience developing systems and complex application architectures
• You bring 5+ years of experience with Public and Private cloud infrastructure (AWS) and with application and infrastructure security concepts
• You possess a strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices
• You have demonstrated depth of experience with CI/CD concepts and SDLC tooling (Gitlab/Hub, Jenkins, etc)
• You have an analytical mind and excellent critical thinking skills
• You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• You possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate and present compelling content to guide strategic decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with financial enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc)).
• Experience with Observability tooling (Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, etc).
• Experience with FinOps based practices and financial allocation tools and techniques.
• Experience with ITSM tooling and associated frameworks (ServiceNow).
• Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes and other cloud orchestration technologies.
• Experience with security frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks and NIST.

New York Base Salary Range: $205,099-$348,668
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
