TITLE: SENIOR MANAGER - PROGRAMS - CONSUMER DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT
STATUS: EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT - PRODUCTS - DEPOSITS
DEPARTMENT: PRODUCT MANAGEMENT

PAY RANGE: $129,400.00 - $160,000.00 ANNUALLY
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Manager, Programs is responsible for advancing Consumer Deposit and Payment product programs, and campaigns to increase productivity, promote loan, deposit, and Payment services growth, and increase wallet share by designing strategies for industry leading programs that provide value to our members. This position is also responsible for managing the ongoing relationships and maintenance of third-party lending software and partnering with other leaders of internal business units to increase innovation.
This role will also conduct internal deposit, payment and lending project management duties including documenting business requirements, program research and development, including risk assessments and overseeing implementations, managing related software integrations and associated projects.

To strategically plan, execute, and oversee initiatives that drive financial empowerment, enhance member experience, and promote community well-being, fostering a strong and sustainable financial future for our members.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
  1. Project Management: Lead and guide cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This will include collecting and documenting business requirements, performing research, vendor due diligence, ensuring quality user acceptance testing, and overseeing implementations.
  2. Agile Studio Management: Agile studio management requires juggling multiple hats: leading creative teams through sprints and user stories, ensuring project success with budget tracking and risk mitigation, fostering a collaborative culture with continuous improvement, and managing finances, client relationships, and studio operations. All while championing Agile principles and igniting a passion for creative innovation.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholders for sales, operational, and technical readiness, cross vendor integration, reporting and EPMO coordination.
  4. Financial Management: Manage product budget, profitability, spend monitoring, production goal setting and production against goals monitoring.
  5. Product Solutioning: Product set research, design, and management.
  6. Product Framework Management: Develop and maintain an accountability matrix.
  7. Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the credit union's objectives. Develop Go-to-Market strategy and full product roadmap integration and design.
  8. Risk Management: Work closely with Enterprise Risk Management teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with projects. Ensure programs and projects are within regulatory and legal requirements, and internal policies.
  9. Member Experience: Focus on enhancing member satisfaction and loyalty through improved services and program offerings.
  10. Regulatory Compliance: Stay apprised of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements related to financial services products. Ensure that all projects adhere to applicable laws and regulations.
  11. Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project updates and progress to stakeholders, including executives, team members, and other relevant parties.
  12. Resource Allocation: Manage resources efficiently to optimize project outcomes. Plan, organize, direct, and manage budgetary activity for upcoming projects and initiatives.
  13. Performance Measurement: Track and evaluate the project status and outcomes, making data-driven decisions to improve performance where necessary.
  14. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, senior management, members, and external partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution, gather business requirements, define product specifications, and prioritize feature/functionality development. Act as a subject matter expert on financial products, providing guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  15. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that impact business units. Update existing and create new programs and strategies, workflows, and introduce stand-alone applications related to systems and processes to advance long term credit union growth.
  16. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  17. Represent credit union in contacts with business and trade associations, members, and regulatory agencies. Attend business functions and industry conferences, and otherwise promote the credit union's image.
  18. Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union's risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
  19. Travel as required.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:
INTERNAL: All levels of management and staff.
EXTERNAL: C.C.U.L., community organizations, vendors, suppliers, and peers in financial institutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related field plus equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
  1. EXPERIENCE: Seven years or more of program/project management experience (at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role), with a focus on Business deposit, payments, and lending product and systems management within financial services organizations.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lending principles, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional leaders, internal teams, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product development frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of the retail financial services market and products including digital transformations, use of analytics, cross-functional execution, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient knowledge or Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Visio; and Nitro Pro.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, deliver high quality results, and demonstrate accountability and ownership of work and actions.
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously with the ability to adapt to change and prioritize and manage competing demands.
  • Robust analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills to critically evaluate requests to determine true needs and distinguish between solution ideas and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required, including maintaining positive relationships with system stakeholders, providers, and key internal business partners.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
    2. Corrected vision within the normal range.
    3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
    4. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
    5. Occasional travel by car or public conveyance to out-of-area locations or across the United States to attend business related conferences and seminars.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid California driver's license is desirable but not essential.
