The Senior Manager of Safety and Security of Distribution Centers will have oversight for all Distribution Center locations and will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all Distribution Centers and their staff. The primary focus will be preventing accidents, promoting a safe work environment, and protecting company assets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversees Distribution Center division Safety & Security teams.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Manages 3rd party on-site security services, setting expectations, and driving accountability to ensure company standards are maintained.
- Reviews nightly recap from Safety & Security Coordinator and follow up as needed.
- Meets with Safety & Security Coordinator at shift change for daily plans and tasks.
- Touch base with security staff on any incidents or support needed.
- Attends daily leadership meetings with supervisors, managers, and directors.
- Conducts building safety walks looking for any safety and security related issues, hazards, OSHA violations, company safety/policy violations, unsafe outfitter behavior, suspicious activity and talking with any outfitters that have concerns.
- Monitors and audits security staff for compliance of security policies and procedures.
- Monitors iWarehouse and InfoLink reports for machinery impacts and accidents.
- Conducts Powered Industrial Truck Training for new hires, outfitters adding machines, outfitters needing recertification, and after any machinery accidents.
- Audits and approves invoices.
- Prepares detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
- Follows up, supports, and resolves safety, environmental and regulatory issues as assigned by the Director.
- Supports safety awareness and compliance in Distribution, including Workers' Compensation and General Liability claim process, assists management with contacting Corvel triage line for outfitter injuries and follow up on injured worker until released from care, enters injury reports into BPSecure and maintains all OSHA records.
- Conducts incident investigations for any injuries or machinery incidents.
- Uses data to identify trends that may lead to accidents and make recommendations for process changes or improvements.
- Assists with regulatory visit audits (CTPAT, OSHA, FDA, Fire Marshall, etc.)
- Assists with insurance building surveys or audits.
- Responds to OSHA complaints.
- Responds and assists with any Emergency Response
- Put in work orders as needed for safety and security improvements.
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business or in Criminal Justice from an accredited institution
- Years of experience: 5 years' in loss prevention, including 2 years' experience in loss prevention management or related management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Demonstrated experience conducting investigations
- Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
- Experience conducting quality reviews and audits
- Current AHA First Aid/CPR/AED certification
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Less than 10%
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regular computer work, walking and standing
- Occasional sitting
- Seldom to never lifting up to 50lbs
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
- Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
