As a critical escalation point for challenging customer-impacting incidents, the GovCloud Site Reliability Engineering team ensures the continued success of our large customer base by investigating, reproducing, and diagnosing sophisticated technical issues.
As a Senior Manager in this role, you will directly impact he success and well-being of the GovCloud Production Support Team. You should be passionate about developing your team while getting results and know how to delegate effectively, providing context and support and letting creativity flourish. You'll build close relationships with your management peers and our key partners in Technical Support, Customer Centric Engineering (CCE), and other GovCloud engineering teams. You'll lead critical initiatives and exert influence across organizational boundaries in the name of Customer Trust.
About this role:

  • Have leadership experience in a SaaS-based engineering or technical support organization, leading managers/software engineers and/or technical issues for large and strategic customers. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of technical escalation procedures and the key drivers of customer satisfaction. This candidate should have the ability to engage with external and internal customers to instill confidence in technical resolution plans, and should possess an outstanding ability to communicate.
  • Find, hire and retain the best technical talent. Be accountable for the success of your team, providing coaching, mentorship and support to help them develop professionally as well as achieve their delivery goals.
  • Solve infrastructure related problems with code (with a focus on reusability) and you've mastered building compute capacity, worked on Kubernetes deployments at scale. You will be leading key projects in design, development, and post-release support of the Salesforce platform and tools that are used by a variety of internal teams to support our government customers.
  • Demonstrate a sense of autonomy and urgency for ownership of your areas and proactively take accountability for progress forward.
  • Ensure clear organizational priorities which are aligned with departmental and company goals
  • Transform human heavy processes into automated governance solutions.

Requirements:
  • U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship. You agree to complete a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position with the U.S. federal government or other clearances as deemed appropriate for the role.
  • A related technical degree required.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, software engineering, technical support, or a similar technical role, and 2+ years leading direct reports.
  • Ability to apply a wide range of managerial tools to ensure that individuals and teams are organized, motivated and informed, and to choose the best one for a given situation.
  • Deep empathy for the Customer. Ability to think Customer-first and prioritize and raise customer issues as required.
  • 4+ years: working within and building on AWS; Linux system engineering experience.
  • 3+ years: deploying distributed apps with containers (Docker) & orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, GKE); development experience in config management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform); deploying with a CI orchestration service (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
  • 2+ years: developing or infrastructure and application security for Highly Sensitive Customer Data & Environments (IAM, CI/CD, PKI); scripting/programming language (Shell, Python, Golang, Ruby).
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking protocols and components as implemented in IAAS (i.e. VPC, TGW, route tables, security groups, etc.).
  • Experience with Log Management and Analytics tools such as Splunk / ELK.
  • A continuous learner and a critical thinker.
  • A standout colleague with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience developing security & compliance into pipelines (OPA, Checkov, Twistlock, Prisma, Casbin)
  • Experience in any of the monitoring tools like Nagios, Graphite, Datadog, Cloudwatch, Prometheus, Zabbix etc.
  • Experience in leading large scale web applications in production

For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $160,700 to $221,000.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
