Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction, the Senior Librarian, CF, is responsible for the Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) This includes the libraries for the general population, Administrative Segregation, the Infirmary, and Minimum Facility. The Senior Librarian has responsibility for supervising the conduct of the inmates while in the library and may be called upon to assume general custody responsibilities in time of emergency.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
All methods of appointments will be considered including transfers, reinstatements, and Training & Development (T&D) Assignments. MQ's for the class can be found on www.calhr.ca.gov .
Note: On the Examination/ Employment Application (STD. 678), in the "Examination(s) or Job Title(s) For Which You Are Applying" box, Applications must clearly state how you are eligible for the position (ie, transfer or list eligible). It is up to the hiring authority to accept Training and Development (T&D) assignments. If you are interested in a T&D assignment, you are not required to meet MQs; however, you must indicate T&D as your eligibility when applying in the appropriate box.
