The Sr. Lead SD-WAN Engineer will work in a challenging, hands-on environment supporting a dedicated contract. The ideal candidate for this role must be a technical leader within the team. The position requires real world experience configuring, detecting, testing, isolating, and repairing a large range of Viptela SD-WAN and WAN circuit network problems.
• Must reside in or near Eagan, MN, Raleigh, NC or San Mateo, CA.
• Troubleshoot, re-engineer, and maintain a large scale Viptela SD-WAN network.
• Interface with telecom providers, equipment vendors and other entities on complex technical matters.
• Isolate and repair complex Layer 1- 3 LAN & WAN technologies and protocols.
• Work escalated trouble tickets, perform ticket audits, ensure technical thoroughness and efficiency.
• Identify and repair chronic network problems.
• Strong routing knowledge and familiar with Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, and Cisco networking hardware and CLI.
• Network re-engineering services, consistent with the agency service level agreement (SLA).
• Develop fallback and contingency plans for network restoration.
• Directly assist the agency with new application/hardware prototype testing, update network design documentation.
• Provide implementation support for all sites.
• Provide 3rd and 4th level problem troubleshooting support.
• Create and update Standard Operating Processes (SOPs)
• Contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop.
• Desire to develop skills and knowledge.
• Must reside in or near Eagan, MN, Raleigh, NC or San Mateo, CA.
• Design and operational Viptela SD-WAN experience is required.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skill.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical users.
• Experience coordinating and implementing network upgrades.
• Hands-on experience managing a large-scale enterprise Viptela implementation.
• Extensive experience implementing and troubleshooting network technologies such as SD-WAN, VRFs, OSPF, EIGRP, OMP, BGP, MPLS & multicast.
• Strong working knowledge of circuits management (LTE, Broadband, and dedicated T1 - 100Gb, Ethernet, etc.).
• Proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment with changing requirements and competing priorities.
• Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation and occasionally work off hours for network maintenance and changes.
• CCIE or equivalent knowledge.
• Monthly travel to customer's location is required.
• Must reside in or near Eagan, MN, Raleigh, NC or San Mateo, CA.
• Government suitability is required for this position.
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$123210 - $154013 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.
$129080 - $161348 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
