Project A Senior IT Infrastructure Project/Program Manager directs activities
concerning the design, planning, installation, coordination, program
funding compliance, and support of low-voltage or telecommunication
system projects throughout the District and supervises IT Infrastructure
Project /Program Managers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities The following list includes the essential duties/responsibilities of this job
Classification:
Develops, analyzes, directs, and monitors the installation, construction,
upgrades, replacement and/or deferred maintenance of various
low-voltage Information Technology systems such as: local area
networks, telecommunication, public address/intercommunication
systems, intrusion alarms, cable television, closed circuit television, and
other IT related systems.
Manages, coordinates and ensures compliance requirements outlined by
funding sources such as E-rate, bond, stimulus, categorical, and other
funding sources.
Directs work pertaining to the planning, implementation, and monitoring
of IT projects and coordinates project activities with IT personnel,
Facilities Services Division personnel, administrators, equipment
suppliers, and/or other involved participants within the community.
Gathers and analyzes data to prepare project budgets and maintains
responsibility and oversight of project fiscal controls and cost
management.
Develops, reviews and evaluates time management plans and schedules
associated with project progress and develops recovery schedule to
meet stipulated contract completion date if necessary.
Participates in the coordination and development of current and future
technology solutions that meet the needs for schools and administrative
offices.

Minimum Requirements PROMOTIONAL STATUS IS REQUIRED. You must be a current or
retired employee of LAUSD with 130 paid days in regular status in the
Classified Service or permanent status in the Certificated Service or
have been laid-off within the past 39 months from a regular, permanent
LAUSD position in which you passed probation.
Laid-off employees' eligibility as a promotional candidate expires at the
end of their 39 month period; as such, laid-off employees applying for
promotional career opportunities may not be eligible to complete the
assessment process or may be removed from the employment eligibility
list once their eligibility as a promotional candidate expires.
Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a
bachelor’s degree, preferably in architecture, engineering, or a related
field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a
year-for-year basis provided that the requirement of a high school
diploma or equivalent is met.
Experience: Senior IT Infrastructure Project/Program Manager: Four
years of experience in professional project or program management that
involved designing, planning, installation, integration, and/or quality
assurance of which at least two years must have been in low voltage
and/or telecommunication systems.
Desirable Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the needed technical as well as project
management skills to conduct day to day follow up activities on various
tasks for assigned projects, have the foresight to assess on-going risks
and challenges, and be able to mitigate those risks or potential risks as is
necessary. S/he must be able to follow-through on various tasks and
remain in contact with contractors/stakeholders to ensure smooth and
efficient use of installed and constructed systems during the course of all
given projects.
The ideal candidate will also have the ability to communicate effectively
with stakeholders, school administrators, and parents. S/he is able to
break down technical terms and concepts so that members of the public
and internal/external stakeholders will be able to understand them.
