Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Senior Engineers to join our Highway Design team in Lansing, MI! This opportunity is perfect for someone who is looking to grow in their career and take on exciting new challenges.
Our roadway design professionals undertake projects ranging in all sizes and complexities, providing conceptual planning, alignment studies, and preparing contract documents for construction of improvements to local and county roadway networks, and state and interstate highways. We develop alternative improvement plans to balance project costs with other factors including environmental, utility and property impacts.
Responsibilities
- Develop broad knowledge and skills in highway/roadway design.
- Evaluate, select and apply standards, procedures and criteria to perform tasks for a project with some complex features.
- Apply judgment to determine adaptation in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
- Prepare portions of project documents.
- Edit specifications.
- Perform research and investigations for projects as necessary.
- Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
- 2+ years of highway/roadway design experience is required.
- MicroStation, Geopak/InRoads and current OpenRoads design experience; Civil 3D experience is a plus.
- EIT preferred; PE licensed is a plus.
- Ability to create drawings from sketches.
- Ability to ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
