ABS Group is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst with experience in generating maps and visualizing data to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Senior GIS Analyst will be part of an integral team providing our clients with the latest tools, models, and software to communicate risk via geographical information systems.
What You Will Do:
- Utilize GIS and associated software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
- Develop and maintain databases, reports, and mapping
- Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
- Creating, editing, and reviewing Personal and File Geodatabases
- Create custom GIS development and automation
- Supporting the development of services and analyze GIS data
- Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
- Assist in editing and creating static and dynamic products and services
- Communicating technical subjects to both management and clients in a clear manner
- Develop, edit, and troubleshoot large geodatabases used by mapping tools.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science required. Degree in Computer Science, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ESRI ArcGIS and/or ArcGIS Pro software familiarity
- Grasps GIS foundational principals and methods
- Knowledge with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Hazus software desired
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel desired
- ArcGIS Online and Web Application capabilities desired
Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to a manager.
Working Conditions:
Work will normally be performed in an air-conditioned office environment. Work will be non-manual, but the incumbent must be able to walk and climb among equipment and structures. There may be an occasional need to lift up to 10 pounds.
