The Senior Financial Analyst position at Vortex Optics is a challenging and exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in finance and a passion for analytical work.
What You'll Be Doing
Government Contract Budgeting and Analysis

• Develop and maintain detailed budgets for government contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct financial analysis of government contract performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost efficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for government contracts.

Forecasting and Modeling

• Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to forecast revenue, expenses, and other key financial metrics.
• Analyze historical financial data to identify trends and provide insights for future planning.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with government contract regulations and reporting requirements.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with government contracts.

Costing and Forecasting

• Establish standard costing on new Vortex products, including yearly evaluation of inventory costs.
• Facilitate effective decision-making by forecasting business, industry, and economic conditions.

Cash Flow Modeling

• 13-week cash flow forecast.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or MBA in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Financial Analyst role.
• Superior quantitative and analytical skills with advanced Excel and financial systems capabilities.
• Experience with SAP, PowerBI and Anaplan is a plus.
• Strong project management skills; ability to multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
• High degree of initiative and motivation; willingness to assist other Vortex departments and customers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Anaplan, SAPbyDesign, PowerBI is desirable.
• CSDR reporting experience is desirable but not required.
• Government contracting experience is desirable but not required.
