Hybrid work arrangement available after training to allow some work from home throughout the work week

What You'll Do:
Serve as a financial liaison with Gundersen Health System entities.
Responsible for financial process development and performing a variety of financial reporting, modeling & related complex analyses.
Access and identify financial risks and rewards related to strategic and tactical growth and expense reductions.
Hybrid work model; working 3 days out of our Onalaska offices
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Work experience 5-7 years as an Accountant, Financial Analyst, Auditor, or similar field.

Job Description:
Serves as financial liaison with Gundersen Health System entities. The Senior Financial Analyst is an advisor collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide risk analysis to support improvement of financial performance for Gundersen Health System (GHS). Responsible for financial process development and performing a wide variety of financial reporting, modeling, and related complex analyses for assigned areas of responsibility under minimal supervision. Assists leaders with risk evaluation related to financial matters, both strategic and tactical in nature. This is the working level position with more in-depth exposure to one or more financial systems and direct interaction with customers.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Partners with Administrative Directors/Directors in the development and analysis of strategic financial plans. Provides strategic consulting and support with respect to organizational and/or department financial decisions and growth strategies.
2. Accesses and identifies financial risks and rewards to related strategic and tactical growth and expense reductions.
3. Prepares financial and statistical analyses, graphs, and presentation materials, and provides analytical support for a variety of personnel, including senior management and directors.
4. Prepares periodic statistical and month-end financial reports and financial justifications for capital expenditure requests based on standard reporting templates to provide consistency.
5. Perform financial analyses required to set new fees and reevaluate existing fees. Assist with revenue enhancement projects.
6. Maintains loads and reconciles data from general ledger.
7. Ability to develop and analyze productivity reports, forecasts, trends, variances and anomalies.
8. Develops and/or participates in system-wide annual and quarterly capital forecasting process. Prepares publication of the annual targets for Gundersen Health System.
9. Provides financial support to management, utilizing knowledge of financial systems, interpreting financial and accounting information, and responding to questions and queries.
10. Performs ad-hoc financial analyses at multiple levels of complexity which may include calculations of rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial and expense performance comparisons.
11. Conducts research and analysis of financial data needed in planning, budgeting, cost control, and project control to provide informed recommendations to leadership across the organization.
12. Works collaboratively with various departments to meet customer needs.
13. This position requires the viewing of clinical systems and protected health information in order to validate cost accounting and financial reporting for the organization.
14. In collaboration with the other Financial Operations Consultants maintains a consistent and uniformed financial approach for the organization.
15. May provide leadership and/or supervision for financial analysis, including education.
16. Performs other job-related duties as directed.
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting or Finance or a related field
Work Experience:
REQUIRED
5-7 years of experience as an accountant, Financial Analyst or auditor. Experience with developing financial models: budgeting, business expansion/contracting.
DESIRED
1 year of experience in healthcare clinical operations and/or finance.
