Job description

MHC Healthcare is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance/Accounting team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Senior Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for ensuring financial data is aggregated, analyzed, and reported with meaningful insight. The data produced will be used to drive strategic initiatives essential to the financial integrity of the organization.
MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.
The following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 5 years' relevant Finance or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience

The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Experience with SQL
  • Work experience in a healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with Software; Vena Solutions
  • Familiarity with FP&A, employee health records (EHR) systems; Centricity, Patterson Eaglesoft, and RX30

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.
This position has the following supervisory responsibility:
Does not direct or supervise others.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Computer proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Expertise in MS Excel with proven experience of manipulating large sets of data efficiently.
  • Proficient in Power BI and/or Tableau.
  • Ability to analyze data and create change initiatives to drive positive financial results.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work with data which is ambiguous.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy.
  • Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages and conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis including financial analysis, cost/benefit analysis and revenue analysis for the organization.
  • Identifies and drives process improvements, including creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
  • Increases productivity by developing automated reporting/budgeting tools.
  • Independently provides ongoing financial expertise to all levels of the organization.
  • Suggests opportunities for both revenue and productivity enhancements to department leadership.
  • Develops databases and designs custom reports to analyze operations of fiscal systems and identifies/tracks variances within the department.
  • Develops projection models based on actual data and monitors performance.
  • Performs analysis on specific areas or trends and discusses findings with departments.
  • Designs complex financial reports to map trends and identify potential budgetary issues.
  • Performs cost/benefit analysis for existing and new service lines.
  • Provides guidance to Central Billing Office (CBO) to ensure accuracy of coding and documentation.
  • Provides advice, consultation, and training to internal clients on all aspects of the budget cycle, financial concepts, and fiscal management.
  • Prepares and presents data needed for the annual budget.
  • Prepares monthly forecasting based on projected actuals.
  • Examines methods to improve and streamline the departmental budget process.
  • Assists with the preparation of the annual Prospective Payment System (PPS) audit including eligibility verification and service eligibility.
  • Prepares and presents data needed for grants and special programs.
  • Prepares and presents data needed for the annual Uniform Data System (UDS) process.
